Your Redspot Car Rentals vehicle with GPS can be picked up at Cairns airport so you can make the most of everything the wonderful city of Cairns has to offer.

All Redspot Car Rentals vehicles are around 6 months old and serviced regularly. However, if you happen to encounter a problem with your hire car, you will be covered by our 24-hour roadside assistance. The service is free unless the mechanical problem is a result of driver error (e.g. locked keys in car). Redspot Car Rentals also offers a premium roadside assistance package at a small additional fee. This premium package will cover you in such cases as accidentally leaving the lights on.

Toll Roads

There are currently no toll roads in far north Queensland. Only if you travel to south-east Queensland are there tolls. If you want to find out more about where exactly the toll roads are, or more information about how we handle tolls, visit our toll road page for more information.

Sight Seeing Attractions

Far North Queensland is the adventure capital of Australia. Enjoy white water rafting, sky diving, or bush walking at some of the many locations around Cairns. Inland visitors can visit the Daintree Rainforest or embark on an Aboriginal walking tour, while offshore many choose to visit Turtle Island or snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef. You could even road trip the North Queensland Waterfall circuit drive and see the beautiful natural wonders of the area.

About Cairns

Cairns is a regional city in Far North Queensland. Founded in 1876, the city was named after the then-current Governor of Queensland; William Wellington Cairns. The city is located about 1,700 km from Brisbane, and about 2,700 km from Sydney.

For years, Cairns has served as the agricultural hub of Far-North Queensland; exporting sugar cane, gold and other minerals and agricultural products from surrounding areas. Today, its tropical climate and spectacular natural scenery make it a popular travel destination for foreign tourists. It also serves as a launching point for those visiting the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest.
