Redspot Car Rentals are one of the very few Australian rental car companies that are able to hire to drivers under the age of 25 as well as drivers holding an Australian Provisional Drivers Licence.
The minimum age is 21 and you must have held your Australian provisional licence for a minimum of 1 year. Note that drivers younger than 25 are required to pay a daily age surcharge and can only rent out ECMR, ECAR, CDAR, IDAR class vehicles. Drivers aged 21-24 can only reduce their optional damage liability to a minimum of $330.
Each driver holding an Australian provisional drivers licence and wishing to drive a Redspot rental vehicle are each required to pay a daily provisional licence surcharge. Provisional licence drivers who are 25 or older are not limited to what vehicle they would like to hire, nor are they restricted in the damage liability they would like to choose.
Current pricing on the young drivers surcharge & provisional drivers licence fee can be found on our Standard Fees & Charges page.
