Whether you can pay for your rental monthly or not depends on your rental process. If you are using a rental through our business car hire program, yes, you may pay for your hired car on a monthly basis.
When you hire through other rental packages or book online, you may be requested to pay for your hired car at the kiosk.
Where can I drive a commercial vehicle?
You can drive a commercial vehicle on any road that your license allows you to. Explore your local area at your own pace when you’re not at a worksite or meeting!
Please note that some restrictions on vehicle selection may apply to drivers under 25.
What types of vehicles are available for long term car hire?
The type of vehicles available for long term hire may vary depending on the branch you are hiring from and the availability of your preferred vehicle.
Can you write off a car as a business expense in Australia?
Yes, as an Australian business owner, you can claim a tax deduction for car-related expenses used in running your business.
However, for income tax purposes, a car is defined as a motor vehicle designed to carry less than 9 passengers, and can carry a load of less than one tonne. That means you may be able to write off a minivan or minibus hire as a business expense. If you are using a car for business and private use, you must be able to correctly identify and justify the percentage you are claiming as business use as well.
Is Insurance included with long term rental?

Can I extend or modify my rental period?
Yes, absolutely! To extend your rental period, you just have to contact the Redspot branch you hired your vehicle from. You can also call our toll-free number at 1300 668 810.

What are the requirements to rent a car long-term with Redspot?
To rent a long term rental car with Redspot, you will need to be at least 21 years old. You will also need:
- A valid credit card or debit card* or purchase order/prepaid voucher**.
- A valid driver’s licence and the licence of any other drivers using the car. Licence not in English? Please present an official translation from your embassy or home nation’s traffic authority.
- Does your licence show your current address? If not, please provide documented proof of address, such as a utility bill.
- If you are not an Australian citizen, you must provide your passport.
*Debit cards: Must have the customer’s name displayed, and the ability to make online payments e.g. Visa or Mastercard debit cards.
**Purchase order or prepaid vouchers: Customers must also supply a valid credit card or Visa/Mastercard debit card for any incidental expenses (extensions, fuel charges, etc.).
