We can easily add additional drivers to your car rental booking. The driver will need to show their full valid driver’s licence in any branch and provide a credit card for a daily surcharge. Too easy!
Rev-Up for Young Drivers:
We are one of the few car rental companies to have a minimum driver age of 21!
Note that drivers under 25 will pay a daily surcharge on their car rental fee. Car hire is limited to small to medium-sized sedans and hatchbacks.
Don’t sweat the paperwork:
If you are a first-time renter, all we need is one (1) document with your address on it. Returning customers, all you need to bring for collection is your valid driver’s licence and credit card. Yes, one-way car hire is totally possible in Australia. This allows you to pick up your one way rental car at one location and drop it off at another, e.g. renting a vehicle from the Redspot Sydney CBD branch and dropping it off with our Brisbane Airport team.
Perfect for road trips, travel plans that mix driving and flying, or when you want to relocate between different cities. Keep in mind that one-way rentals usually come with drop fees (aka one-way fees) to cover the cost of relocating vehicles back to their original branch. Can you hire a truck to go one way?
With Redspot, yes, you can! With our flexible one-way rental packages, you can pick up your hire truck in one location and drop it off in another without having to worry about the return trip. Interstate one-way rentals:
- You can book one-way truck hire between our East Coast branches (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS), subject to vehicle availability.
Restricted state one-way rentals:
- Due to these branches’ remote locations (NT, SA, WA), one-way hire is only available between Redspot locations within the state/territory it is rented from.

Do Redspot moving trucks have unlimited kms?
While most standard car hire comes with unlimited kms (such as compact cars, sedans and hybrids), there are some instances in which we do impose a km limit to keep our fleet running smoothly. As Australia is so great in size (and beauty), we need to keep track of the following:
- Vans, trucks and utes have a 100 km p/day limit to help us sustain the fleet.
- Remote locations, such as Alice Springs or Darwin, have a 200 km p/day limit to ensure our vehicles remain well-maintained and ready for the unique demands of outback travel.
