Yes, a sole trader can lease a car for business purposes. However, you will need to provide proof of business income and meet the lender’s criteria to qualify.
Can I extend my business car rental contract?
Yes, absolutely! Just give our staff a call to see if the vehicle is still available, and we can discuss an extension for your rental period.
If your car has been booked, we can also help you find a suitable replacement vehicle for your contract.
Can you write off a car as a business expense in Australia?
Yes, as an Australian business owner, you can claim a tax deduction for car-related expenses used in running your business.
Please note that for income tax purposes, a car is defined as a motor vehicle designed to carry less than 9 passengers, and has a load capacity of less than one tonne. If you are using a car for business and private use, you must be able to correctly identify and justify the percentage you are claiming as business use as well.
