What are the kilometre limits for an Adelaide rental van?
Our 1.5 and 2-tonne vans have a kilometre limit of 100km per day in Adelaide. To ensure our vans are in top shape to carry bulky cargo and your favourite possessions, we impose a kilometre limit and carry out extra maintenance.
That doesn’t mean you can’t drive over 100km in a day. If you do need to go over the 100km/day limit, we will simply add a $0.30/km fee to your final invoice.

The km limit is 100km per day. If you drive over this, then you could be charged $0.30 per km on your final invoice.
Can Redspot vans move interstate?
Yes, absolutely! If you return your Redspot van hire to the same location you picked it up from, you’re free to roam the interstate with ease.
Interstate one-way rentals:
- You can book one-way car hire between our East Coast branches (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS), subject to vehicle availability.
Restricted state one-way rentals:
- Due to these branches’ remote locations (NT, SA, WA), one-way car hire is only available between Redspot locations within the state/territory it is rented from.
Our vans come with a daily kilometre allowance of 100 km to help us sustain the fleet, with a small fee for extra distance depending on the vehicle. Ideal if you’re sticking to a local move or want to save on removalists.

How do I drive a moving van?
First time driving a moving van? No worries! To get you on the road with confidence, here are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind:
- Give a wide berth: Play things safe and stay aware when driving near other vehicles to ensure a smooth journey by leaving a wide berth between you and other drivers. Pay extra attention around those tight corners, so you can turn gradually and keep everyone (plus your cargo!) safe and sound.
